TEXAS

Pin It Now!
a vacant hotel along the way

We took a trip to Texas to see the inlaws.
The town is Wichita Falls
and the weather was quite hot.
It is not a tourist town full of noise and activity,
but filled with a slow pace and damn good barbeque.
A moment away from the cube, the computer, my laundry list was much needed
and very well absorbed...

Boy am I long over due for a vacation.
My skin is telling me so.
The weather here has been pretty raining and grey
not at all inspiring.

This photograph by Johnny Miller reminds me of dusk on a lovely
trip to the islands when I was a mini...

We will be traveling to Texas next week for a family visit,
but it is more
"small-town-stay-with-family-to-chat" Texas
 than vacay-discovering-unique-finds-and-eating-lovely-food Texas.
But i will make the most of it and beg to travel to the outskirts to unearth some magic.
I am hoping that at some point this year
we can see sand and sun, eat spicy foods and hear music...

my reaction:
I just took a glance around to stare at the fluorescent lights and heard the white noise blowing into
the air, looking at the not-quite-beige colored file cabinets.
and disdain filled my heart...
I miss the world.

this luggage deserves a very unique voyage to....
i don't know....
Willy Wonka's factory
or
Oz
or someplace equally as magical....
and
mind bending that would completely and utterly alter your present mindframe
and transform you into a different being...
childlike almost.
Sometimes one needs this sort of venture, because
somehow multiple trips to the Target
won't do the trick.

I think it is time for another trip......
we went to Savannah for Labor Day
since it is only 3/4 hours away from home, and got to soak up the last bits of Summer
Only to come back and be hit with 55-60 degree whether.
I luuuuurve Autumn, but what the heck happened to the transition period.
You know....70's low 80's?
My closet is still chock full of my chiffons and spaghetti straps...
Anywhooooo....the changing of the leaves makes the shock much better.

Time to whip out the cinnamon teas!
