WHATS ON THE TUBE

Pin It Now!

Hiya!
So I just woke up from a nap.
Yes I take naps. Mostly because my body is warring with me while creating
this tiny human. But if it matters at all I am dreaming about working, food, traveling.
I am very active sleep dreamer these days.
Aside from napping and putting in actual work towards Fall/Winter offering and new-NEWs
for (r-ki-tekt), I have been on a YouTube binge.
I admit that I haven't been using this platform as thoroughly as I should have for
information or entertainment, but those days of wander
are now gone and I'm in.
I thought I'd share with you some of my favorite channels to just sit
and stream through while I work.

So you all know I have a MAJOR girl crush/imaginary mentee relationship with
I, like many, fell in love during 'Girlfriends', but thankfully
due to social media platforms, we can all indulge in her
exuberance, flawless style and fantastic locks once again.

Next up is Joy Cho from Oh Joy.
Seriously me and Chloe sit (for hours) and replay these videos during
our craft time. Chloe says its nice to have inspiration on in the
background. (yes, her words not mine. Although I totally agree)
Chock full of color, happiness and yummy treats that have really
got my cravings bouncing all over the place.

I have to say I am definitely going through an awkward phase of life.
(more on that in another post)
but I am STILL on my hair transition journey.
It has been 1 year and 2 months since I made the decision to let the curls
free and through that I have had the guidance of
To the curly gals out there she is an ingenue and you bow to her
hair and natural hair care regimen. She has helped me keep the faith on the
days when the creamy crack is calling me by my full-name.
Here's a link to a great link to one of my favorite styles of the future.

Along with my hair transition, I am going through a beauty transition as well.
The most I do daily is a cat eye and gloss.
I have never been a "full-face" make up kinda chick.
Mostly because I hate the feeling of having makeup on.
But I looks so fantastic!!! Especially when it is done properly.
Enter Scene: Shirley B. Eniang.
Not only is it refreshing to listen to her talk, but she is crazy gorgeous
with all of the standard features of a woman of color.
Full lips, broad face, and curves
(she does style posts as well)
I tell you, Brits can convince me of anything really.

And finally for style...
Let me start by saying that I have been beyond vain during this pregnancy.
I have literally been mourning the loss of my waistline.
If you follow me on twitter, you have probably seen my whiny
posts about not being able to wear belts and my cardigans.
I refuse to let this period get the best of my body, so know that
I will be working super hard to get back in my closet.
And none other than Wendy of Wendy's Lookbook has been
my motivation. Not for fitness, but for easy style.
She doesn't make it complicated and everything she pieces together are
generally classic, making it easy to find replicas of if they are out of price range or
past season pieces. Even my husband was captivated by this video.
(don't tell him I told you)

These may be familiar to some of you or maybe its a new find.
Either way, I hope they fill your inspiration bubble.
As I find new channels or videos I will be sure to share them with you all.
 Cheers!--Kel

  1. omg all of them are my faves! I love Wendy and Joy because they just seem like really sweet people in real life - they both make me smile. Shirley I'm biased towards because she has a British accent AND she's Nigerian! She's awesome. I always say if my natural hair won't look like Tracee's then I don't wanna be natural!
