ANTI-SLACK

Pin It Now!
discovered here

more of this and less of the rest.
I know it is humpday, but lets give
giving 100% a try and see what the results are.
Yeah, I know that time is slim and a nap is
far from a reality, but maybe...just maybe
if we leave the laziness at the door
fantastic things will happen.

And just like that, I'm ready for Spring.
A Pattern Box print and a flower-bomb fizzing out over
Jean Shrimpton will do the trick every time.

TARGET HAUL

Pin It Now!

Now this is rare, non?
I have never done a haul.
Mainly because I have always imagined a gloating tune of
nah-nah-na-na-naah in the background in each.
But this is more as a heads up haul than a brag.
And perfect if you are looking for a couple of items to
help you round out your office supplies for the New Year.

And of course it is from Mecca
or as some like to call it--Target.
And its all from the dollar bins.
If you follow me on twitter, you have probably caught my
whisperings of sweet nothings to Target for their amazing
offering and perfect designs from Kid wear to home to notebooks.
They really hit the nail on the head Every. Single. Time!

Talk about Color & Print Fest!!
I am having a love affair with Chartreuse so I am glad
to see it spread through out and get it's proper credit for being
awesome throughout this mini collection.
And this tray! Totally reminds me of these
Except for the price, right.
(I let out a sly giggle when I purchased them.)

I am not sure how long this floor set will last.
I went a week or so before Christmas.
But if your having even the tiniest swoon sesh right now
I suggest you head over and rummage those bins immediately.
Thank me later!--Kel

THIS & THAT

Pin It Now!

Happy Monday!!
It's been I while since I did a little This & That post.
I felt as if this bananas print is usually what Monday look like. Cahrazy!
Thankfully, Chloe is on winter vacation, so that should diminish the usual morning stresses.
But truly I selected the print because I have been loving the mint and yellow
combination lately and the coat is quite darling, non?
Hope this week proves to be full of joy & thanksgiving, as opposed to hectic.
Just find the bliss in all of the elements.

DISCOVER ART / BETH HOECKEL

Pin It Now!

 Oh... Beth Hoeckel
totally and utterly fits the bill for the walls
of my future/imaginary home.

You know... the one with bright white walls, a constant 'golden hour'
pouring through every pore...
I can close my eyes and
see them clustered with all my other random
art findings and thrifted trinkets.
Perched perfectly over my MCM seating
sprinkled with the right amount of pattexlor pillows.
Yes.....
It all looks so perfect behind my eyelids.

This Balitmore based artist has a way with mixed media that
makes me hungrily stare at my stack of Vogues and Frankie's
with the urge to recreate something similar.
Only I am fully aware of my strengths and weaknesses
and will leave it to the magician with the touch to
spread the love.

Please answer the cry of your thirsty, bland walls and take a visit her online

HONEY & BLOOM

Pin It Now!

I have an intense itch for print and pattern.
I am constantly on the hunt for the fantastic
use of color that intermingles
with line in such a playful yet clean and semi-sophisticated way.
Yes, I know that is some sort of design juxtaposition,
but that seems to be me in a nutshell.
Stumbling upon Honey & Bloom was that refreshing fix that I needed.
Her stationary heavies my looming
guilt for not writing thank you's and how ya doin's
as often as I should.

The card sending season has pretty much arrived and the
Winter Tree card is perfect for tradition with a twist.

My philosophy is usually
"the cuter the card, the longer I hold onto it."
But I think, this go round of printed lovelies calls for some sharing.

Bisous,

Kel

RELEASE IT

Pin It Now!

When i saw these words this morning
I took a deep breath and exhaled all the
"ness" that has been going on this month.
there are FIVE days until the wedding (whoop whoop!!)
and in between all the planning my life has been chock full of
happiness, sadness, anger, and numbness.

I think the blog world is the most fantastic venture I have dipped my toe in.
But, this world can be very deceiving.
You can click through pages and pages of magical images that
reflect what you aspire to be and then hours later
(usually around dinner/bed time)
you finally log off and realize that all of the visuals that stimulated your senses do not exist in your real world and you are suddenly left feeling empty,
jealous, and disappointed.
Then a shallow feeling washes over you for letting frivolity
control your emotions so much.
But there is so much more to blogging and
there is so much more to life THAN blogging
if you are willing to accept the challenge to living life as opposed to watching other people live theirs.

Know that there are actual people behind blogs. Not photo stills.
I try really hard to remain personable and very transparent amidst
the images that are posted.
I think it is important for people understand that life goes on and on and takes drastic turns for EVERYONE not just non-bloggers.

This is difficult for me to discuss, but no one ever talks about it and I have a feeling that it is way more common than the world leads on.

I have been taking longer breaks between blogging and have put my shoppe on vacation to focus on me. Wedding planning included. And about a month ago I found out that I was expecting my second child. Insert whirlwind. I had been wanting another child as I caught baby fever and I thought it was time for Chloe my mini to have a playmate before she got use to being the center of attention.
We were trying per say, it was more of a surprise.
I am a control freak/perfectionist, which goes to say that I don't fair well with surprises.
but this was a lovely one I was certainly willing to accept.
As we planned the wedding (planner not included) i grew more and more tired
which is the worst side effect for a workaholic. And I could fight it well. So a big pause was placed on my life so i could channel my energy properly.
All seemed normal until my first OB appointment when I was told I was only 6-7 weeks.  I had assumed I was further along, but the body does whatever it wants. They said they wanted to keep watch and have me return in a week for a follow up.
Let me tell you a week passing can change your life forever.
Exactly a week later, I gave birth to my 7-8 week old baby on my bathroom floor...
i am not interested in using the word miscarriage as the connotation is very dismissive to the fact that
there was an unsuccessful delivery of the mini i was carrying.
Obviously the baby didn't survive, but I can't say that the entire experience was unsuccessful.
Not just as a woman, but as a human, I am emotional torn and exhausted.
Yet I am so much stronger than I ever thought I could be to be able to wake up the follow day with so much thanks in my heart and love for my family for walking this out with me.
I feel as though without the consolation of my friends and family and my faith, I would be a puddled mess.
I know that many women in this arena stress the importance of privacy, but I think it is also important to allow your readers/viewers to know that life happens to you too.
That in no way, shape, or form are we exempted from travesties and heartbreak and only given
great hair, shoes, and campaign opportunities.
If you are going through a loss, a death, or have experienced a similar situation, please know and understand that, though i don't know you personally, you are not alone and surely don't have to be.
As women, we are bonded in so many ways by default that has nothing to do with circumstantial grievances, but by just knowing that the greatest release is taking your bra off at the end off the day.
Learn to be the best YOU and let go of the rest that you have no control of.
Many Bisous,
Kel

FLIRT

Pin It Now!

this perfect print is here

the other day, le hub and I got to take part in a lovely little project
that i can't wait to share with you all,
but it kinda allowed us to shamelessly flirt and play coy with each other in a way that we haven't since we began dating back in the Summer of 2006.
(yup, we are the product of summer love).
But, since we have begun planning our wedding the stress level has been on super high for me and honestly I haven't been in the flirting kind of mood,
but i have since checked myself and have been deliberately nice to my main may-ne.

Men---oh the specimen that they are...
They are not perfect, but if you are a newbie wife or a bride to be or just dating, just keep reminding yourself of how you guys got to where you
 are in the first place.
granted that is a good and healthy place.
Do the unconventional and pry yourselves from the television and try going to a Drive-In...
piece together a puzzle...start with 300 pcs then work your way up to 2000 and beyond...
it'll take a few nights plus some wine, unless you 2 are
mucho genius' but it's fun.
get off the computer for a sec and find a kiddie park nearby.
Given they don't have signs up saying adults are prohibited from having fun
the merry-go-round is free game so give your boo a swing!

Happy Flirting!

Mental Toe Touch!!

Charlotte Taylor
always gives me goosebumps from her print/pattern/color overload.

I mean....
LOOK AT IT
!!!

Do you not feel inspired to rummage through your great aunt's closet to find that
one bit of randomness that makes your outfit a touch off kilter???
(hand raised and waving)
I do!!

And the Video is flippin peeeerfect!!!!
I love that designers are taking a minute or month to create
fantastic videos that help tell the story and
evoke the mood of the brand at that moment.
I always felt that storytelling is just as essential as the product itself.
If the consumer doesn't establish an emotional connection to your work and
a well rounded experience isn't offered, you have lost the opportunity to
win their heart.
A what a big opportunity that is, I think...
