 It's been a pretty busy beginning this year, which I am so thankful for.

But this has kept me from tending to the house as I normally do. 

And like many of you my project list and DIY board runneth over.

So I decided to tackle a couple of them. 

The first and by far the easiest is the clock update. 

I've had this plain clock perched on my wall for months and it erked me

just how blah it was. 

A spruce up was a must!

So it seems as shellacking one's wall with
 inspiring prints is the name of the game. 

Since the New Year (New You) is rolling around the corner, 

I figured I might provide a source for some "revamp your life and space" goodies.

I am so down for this, as I am one that needs a constant visual 

reminder and que to be my awesome self (insert side eye laced with sarcasm). 

But no, I do like the idea of having mantras and uplifting tags

to get me through the day. Because lately, being covered in 

milky puke is not cutting it. 

I have been swooning over several prints that I have seen pop up on a few 

blogs and throughout my instagram feed and low and behold 

they are all from the same shop.

Happy Monday guys! 

Hope your weekend was good. 

I made plans to go to the state fair and take some 

really IG worthy photos of ferris wheels and cotton candy,

 but instead I went grocery shopping 

and was completely exhausted afterward. 

Semi-bummer....but I DID

take a nap that was totally blissful and woke up to a 

fridge full of food! (SCORE) 

To a pregnant woman that is basically heaven.

As for today and the rest of the week, 

I have a few new items that I have to complete

this week that indeed stay on the golden track. 

Eeeppp!!!

Gotta love shiny bits & baubs.

So far I plan on making this dish at some point this week to 

continue celebrating Autumn. 

Aside from that, I've watched Hocus Pocus maybe 3 or so times.

Totally normal for this time of year.

My cupboards are sad.

No seriously, they whine in the middle of the night

because there is no party going on in there.

I have a few dishes were pasted down, some thrifted finds and some from 

Anthopologie, which is closest to my everyday aesthetic...

random, fun, with a nod to vintage.

But lately I have been wanting a cleaner look. 

This feeling slightly freaks me out, because it means my taste 

is changing, yet again and that probably means I'm getting older. 

Pardon me as I weep silently to myself. 

But it won't be for long because if getting older means you get to 

refine your visual palette then I guess that is all right---if it beats to the tune of 

Reiko Kaneko.

I stumbled upon this bea-u-ti-ful set on Pinterest and new immediately

that I needed this in my life. The crispness of the white is so unbelieveably

breathable. And the gold. Oh the gold. It's not just the electroplating that 

makes my heart pound but the less than serious content is what makes

it utter perfection. Who doesn't like a dose of humor during your morning 

cup of tea? I know for a fact the Lip Tease mug would make any Monday easier to bear.

I loooove gold.

Gold jewelry, nail polish, shoes....anything!

I think it might have a lot to do with the fact that I am Caribbean and have always worn it.

My grandmother always bought bits & baubs from the islands and her trips to France, and I think there was a point where it was such a standard that I didn't appreciate it enough. 

So I dabbled in Silver a bit when I was younger (only because my friends were doing it), but it never fully reached that sense of luxe and
glow that gold gave.

 As I've gotten older, I've gone back to what I

know....and all the lovely jewels that were
saved for me to enjoy now.

So glad that it is becoming somewhat trendy.  I didn't have to empty my pockets much to indulge and join the arm party.

Happy Tuesday Beauts!!!

I hope you all are feeling well rested at least a morsel of a bit 

after the holiday weekend.

What did I do?

Sleep and boy was it great!

I slipped in a leeeeetle bit of work, added some dope newbies to the shoppe, but mostly just lounged around the pool, house, mum's pad and snuggled with the hubs at the Taco Mac over a 

saucy basket of wings.

So after lounging in weekend wear, staring at the closet for 30 minutes looking for a magic outfit, is probably what your morning looked like.

My solution to uninspiring mornings 100% of the time is color.

Most drift over to the dark side & pull the black-on-black-on black number, but I've found that the more color you shellack on the better and is an instant mood lifter.

Pairing Bright Coral and Cobalt has been in heavy rotation on 

style boards and I love it. To add even more of a dash, chartreuse-y flowers and a gold metal hair clip come along for the ride.

The Key is, "The Hone In", to help balance out all the brightness going on.

In my case, it is usually a gold belt. 

(I have 4 that are always in regular rotation)

So, grab your cup of tea or coffee and start your morning on a 

brighter and color drenched note.

Happy Tuesday Loves!!

Speaking of loves, I thought I talk about my hun-hub.

Tomorrow is our 11 month anniversary. 

Yup, its almost a whole entire year.  

And boy what an experience it has been.

They say that your first year is always the hardest. 

We didn't live together before we tied the knot so there was and still is, a lot of learning and 

getting used to, but let me tell there is absolutely no other man I'd rather "get use to", 

playground pick on and cook for than him. 

The other week I was asked by the lovely 

Jaclyn of Stay In the Lines to drop some 

advice for those that are prepping for the big day. 

And one of my favorites was to remember to keep dating. 

It's the most fun, yet most difficult factor to remember

because you see each other every day so there isn't a moment to really "miss" your spouse unless they travel quite often.  

So keeping spunk is definitely essential. 

Its not always about trying to look like a VS angel or having a Superbowl sized piping hot platter of wings & a beer ready for him when he walks in. 

I think its more about seeing how many ways can you make the other laugh and fully enjoy the present.  Yes, its hard to not be bothered by how he arranges the plastic containers or understand why he sits the way he sits or CHEW'S the way he does.

 (come on ladies!!you know what i'm talkin about! I saw a few heads nod at that one!)

But, the happier moments totally outweigh the murky. And are beyond worth it. 

So, ladies let's play Sadie and get yourselves dolled up for a date night with your hun

consider balancing something he likes with something you love that doesn't involve 16 sports screens.
